The 2016 Advancing Justice Conference (AJC) is the first and only national conference in the Asian American and Pacific Islander (AAPI) community focusing on civil rights and social justice. Over 700 AAPIs from across the U.S. will come together to address issues facing our fastest growing populations. The theme will focus on civic engagement and building our electoral and social power in support of economic and racial justice. Conference attendees will participate in two days of panel discussions, caucus sessions, skills and capacity building, trainings, and networking receptions.

Sarah Sumadi is the naturalization program manager at OneAmerica in Seattle, where she oversees 7 subgrantees and a dozen application assistance workshops per year across Washington State. Prior to that, she was the Director of Volunteers and Communications at the Center on Halsted in Chicago. She has a B.A. in journalism from Northwestern University, and a M.A. in international relations from the Universidad de San Andres in Buenos Aires, Argentina. In 2014, she co-produced and published the Leaders from the Kitchen cookbook, which raised more than $5,000 for small business training for low-income women in Belize and Nicaragua.
