Lori Shellenberger directs the American Civil Liberty Union’s California Voting Rights Project, which advocates for statewide and local election reform to reduce barriers to voter participation. Since joining the ACLU in 2011, she has advocated for the mapping of the first majority-minority supervisor district in San Diego County; advocated for the successful transition from at-large to district elections in multiple local jurisdictions; and worked to increase statewide compliance with the National Voter Registration Act, including designation of California's Health Benefit Exchange as a voter registration agency. Shellenberger graduated from New York University School of Law, where she was a Root-Tilden Scholar.
