The 2016 Advancing Justice Conference (AJC) is the first and only national conference in the Asian American and Pacific Islander (AAPI) community focusing on civil rights and social justice. Over 700 AAPIs from across the U.S. will come together to address issues facing our fastest growing populations. The theme will focus on civic engagement and building our electoral and social power in support of economic and racial justice. Conference attendees will participate in two days of panel discussions, caucus sessions, skills and capacity building, trainings, and networking receptions.

James Hong is the Director of Civic Engagement at the MinKwon Center for Community Action. He oversees the MinKwon Center’s civic participation, community organization, advocacy and youth empowerment programs. Hong is a second-generation Korean American from Miami, Florida, who joined the MinKwon Center in 2010. Prior to joining the MinKwon Center, Hong was a Senior Research Analyst at Market Dynamics Research Group, Synovate USA and Synovate Korea. Hong received his B.A. from Bowdoin College and his M.Div. from Princeton Theological Seminary.
