The 2016 Advancing Justice Conference (AJC) is the first and only national conference in the Asian American and Pacific Islander (AAPI) community focusing on civil rights and social justice. Over 700 AAPIs from across the U.S. will come together to address issues facing our fastest growing populations. The theme will focus on civic engagement and building our electoral and social power in support of economic and racial justice. Conference attendees will participate in two days of panel discussions, caucus sessions, skills and capacity building, trainings, and networking receptions.

It’s Never Too Early To Plan – Census 2020 and Redistricting

Sign up or log in to save this to your schedule, view media, leave feedback and see who's attending!

As civic engagement efforts ramp up for the 2016 elections, organizations must be equally invested in engaging in Census 2020 and the subsequent redistricting cycle. These are both multi-year processes that take advance planning and coordination to do well. This workshop will discuss how you can weigh in now on important census decisions that will impact an accurate count and how to design an outreach effort. The workshop will also look at how we can engage in redistricting to ensure districts are drawn to amplify our communities’ voices.
